Hebei’s "Flow and Reshaping" brings global talent under one roof

11 artists, nine countries. One show that refuses to be boxed in.

On October 26, 2024, the Butong Circle Center of Contemporary Art in Qinhuangdao, China, opened "Flow and Reshaping" – an exhibit exploring regeneration and innovation in a globalized world.

Amongst the featured artists is Italian artist Federico Vecchi, whose sculptures, shaped from local earth, pulse with rich color and human-like energy.

Meanwhile, Polish artist Marcin Idźkowski’s "Icons of Architecture" series captures fleeting dialogues between structures and shifting light.

Praised for "transcending cultural boundaries," this group show proves art’s power to translate, connect, and gather us – no matter how the world changes."

Chase Hall's brewed coffee practice earns GQ Recognition

From his Hudson Valley studio, artist Chase Hall explores mixed-race identity in America, intergenerational narratives, and resilience using coffee pigments as his medium – a choice that never fails to turn heads.

Hall, who's been in the scene for a while, has been making waves, and even GQ has taken notice. With this milestone of a feature, the art world finally seems to be catching up to what many already knew – that he’s one to watch.

Singapore’s "Perception" explores the physical presence of art"

Late October witnessed the opening of "Perception" at Singapore’s Art Works Gallery.

Featuring London-based artists Max Boyla, Callum Harvey, and Araminta Blue, alongside works from 80 heavy-hitting Singaporean collectors, this show unpacks how these rising talents capture reality’s layered, fractal nature on canvas.

The exhibit runs through November, so if you're around, consider taking up the artists' invitation to let their works “exist in the room with you."

Furness Abbey inspires haunting young British photography

This collection by Furness College students builds on the English heritage site's storied past with a Gothic, supernatural narrative. It's hypnotic and on view through January 2025.
